Lemon verbena  Aloysia citrodora is a species of flowering plant in the verbena family Verbenaceae, native to western South America. Common names include lemon verbena and lemon bee brush. It was brought to Europe by the Spanish and the Portuguese in the 17th century and cultivated for its oil.
 
Lemon verbena, also known as Vervain and Lemon Bee Bush, is a perennial shrub native to South America that was introduced to Europe by the Spanish in the 1600s. As its common name implies, the plant possesses lemon-scented foliage.
 
The leaf, fresh or dried, is used to flavor chicken, vegetables, rice, baked goods and various hot and cold beverages, including tea. Dried lemon verbena can also be encapsulated or tinctured
 
Lemon verbena leaves are used to add a lemon flavor to fish and poultry dishes, vegetable marinades, salad dressings, jams, puddings, Greek yogurt and beverages. It also is used to make herbal teas, or added to standard tea in place of actual lemon (as is common with Moroccan tea). It can also be used to make a sorbet.

Lemon verbena has a refreshing lemony scent and it is very famous for its weight loss properties as it helps digestion, boosts your metabolism and helps to break down cellulite. So if you are on a diet try to add a Lemon Verbena tea in your plan.
