The marshmallow plant (Althea officinalis) is a flowering perennial herb native to Mediterranean Europe, and that is now grown commercially in central Countries in Europe including Germany, Poland, and Bulgaria.

 Marshmallow leaf smoke tends to have a calming effect and smooth flavor that makes it a well-known base to be used in herbal smoking blends. Also you can steep loose marshmallow leaf into a calming tea ideal for use before bedtime, or have the leaf right into a poultice with anti-inflammatory effects.

Most probably the leaves and root of Marshmallow plant is used to make medicine. A dry root and leaf can be used as an herb. Marshmallow leaf is typically used for insect bite as a poultice. The leaf and root are used for pain and swelling of the respiratory tract. They are also used for constipation, dry cough, diarrhea, inflammation lining in stomach area and inflammation in urinary tract and stones. It also has an immune-boosting mild antibacterial and anti-allergy property.

Marshmallow is a protective and cleansing herb. Burning marshmallow cleanses an area, indoors or out or steep the leaves and flowers in oil and use the oil to anoint yourself when you feel the need to be protected from demons or spells cast against you.
