Lovage herb ;**Levisticum officinale

Garden Lovage, Sea Parsley and Love root
Lovage is a very old herb with properties perfect for today's healthy lifestyles. It's unique flavor, which is a combination of celery and anise , can be used as a salt substitute, plus it gives extra flavor to vegetarian  stews and soups as well. You can use it much like you would celery or parsley, but with a lighter hand since its flavour is stronger . Lovage works well in potato and tomato dishes, or anything in the starch category. Every part of the plant is edible

Quercetin is what makes lovage an excellent allergy cure, and also an excellent treatment for bronchitis, indigestion, and colic. The  roots, leaves and fruits are antispasmodic, aromatic, carminative, diaphoretic, digestive, diuretic, mildly expectorant and stimulant. The leaves eaten as a vegetable or used several times a day as an herb may stimulate menstruation. Modern herbalists also use lovage to treat kidney stones, urinary tract infections, and to relieve flatulence and gas pains.

Lovage herb is also used in love spells
