 We have all heard glowing reviews about how healthy blueberries are, but what you don’t generally hear about the value of the blueberry leaf. Studies have shown that blueberry leaf tea and blueberry leaf extract can successfully decrease blood sugar levels by as much as 25%. That is outstanding news for those who must deal with blood sugar values and diabetics. There are actually a much larger numbers of anti-oxidants present in the leaf of a blueberry plant than in blueberry fruit. But do not lose sight of the fact that blueberries are still higher in antioxidants than most foods you can find.

You can make blueberry tea from the leaves of the blueberry plant or from blueberry juice.

The tea is good to drink hot or cold.  

Tea made from the dried leaves is used for sore throat and swelling (inflammation) of the mouth or the skin lining the throat.

Blueberry might help prevent bladder infections by stopping bacteria from attaching to the walls of the bladder. Blueberry fruit is high in fiber which could help normal digestive function. It also contains vitamin C and other antioxidants
